Located on the left bank of the Seine, in the 5th arrondissement, the Latin Quarter is the oldest district in Paris. It was built in ancient times by the Romans. Because of its history, the 5th arrondissement of Paris is one of the richest of the capital in terms of its cultural heritage. It is also a university district, popular with intellectuals.  

  

Take a relaxing break in the Mouffetard district. Relax over a drink on the terrace of the Place de la Contrescarpe, facing the circular fountain. Then,  stroll along the rue Mouffetard lined with restaurants, cafés, shops and vegetable stalls. Go to rue Geoffroy Saint Hilaire to admire the Grande Mosquée de Paris, located opposite the Jardin des Plantes.  It houses a courtyard, a tea room and a hammam, a real haven of peace. Take a guided tour to admire the sumptuous interior of this 1920s monument, then enjoy a mint tea with some oriental sweets.enjoy the Latin Quarter, the Seine and its many cultural places such as the Arab World Institute, or its museums such as the Cluny Museum or the Natural History Museum.
